Radiant cambogia

Important movies: Golnar

The filmmaker who we lost just last year due to Corona. Born in March 1334, he was actually a prominent screenwriter rather than a notable filmmaker. Four times for the screenplays of the films “I have a song of 15 years”, “Transit Cafe”, “Ferrari” and “Truck”, he won the Crystal Simorgh for the best screenplay of the Fajr Festival.

Although his film “Transit Cafe” was nominated to the Oscars by Iran and is considered one of the most important films in his career as a director, Pertovi’s best work in his career is still the children’s film “Golnar”. One of those movies that children of the 60s lived with. A musical work about a classy girl named Gulnar who makes the most delicious cookies in the village. One day he gets lost in the forest and two bears take him hostage to clean their always dirty house.

He was in front of the camera himself in the movie “Pardeh”, which he directed jointly with Jafar Panahi. His last film was “Truck”, which was also presented at Fajr Festival.

Jafar Panahi

Important movies: Circle, Red Gold, Offside

Jafar Panahi, born in July 1339, is a director who has been banned from filmmaking in recent years, but still makes films with a home camera. Panahi started his career in cinema as Abbas Kiarostami’s assistant, and his cinematic style is influenced by Kiarostami’s documentary realism, and of course, there is no mention of Kiarostami’s lyrics in his films. Panahi cinema is mostly defined as Iranian neorealism.

The first feature film he made, “White Balloon”, is his closest work to Kiarostami’s work. The story of a little girl who loses money to buy red fish on Eid night. The film received attention at the Cannes Film Festival and won the Camera d’Or. After that, he decided to narrate social sufferings in a clearer and more direct way.

His first film in this direction, “Circle”, which dealt with the sufferings and problems of women, won the Golden Lion Award at the Venice Film Festival.

Panahi made the movie “Red Gold” in 2002, which many critics think is one of the best movies of the third millennium. He won the special prize of the Cannes jury for this film. The movie “Offside” is the last official film of Panahi, which, of course, was not screened and focused on the presence of girls in stadiums. After that, he was banned and none of his films were officially made in Iran, but they won awards in foreign festivals.

Kiyomarth Pourahmad

Important movies: Strange Sisters, Yalda Night

Pourahmad was born in December 1328 and studied directing at the university. He started his career by writing film reviews in the film magazine. Few people know that he started his career in cinema in 1357 and his first feature film was called “The Story of Long Street”. He was a prolific filmmaker in the 1960s, and in the late 1960s, he became famous among all people with the production of the “Qasehaye Majid” series.

In the seventies, Pourahmad’s films “Bread and Poetry” and “Because of Haniyeh” were noticed, but the film that made him popular was “Kahran Gharib”, an adaptation of Erich Kästner’s story. A film starring Khosro Shakibaei and Afshana Baygan, which had a sweet story and is still one of the good films of Iranian cinema.

In 1380, he made the romantic movie “Yalda Night”, which was a big challenge because the whole movie was told with one character and in one house. Mohammad Reza Froutan’s performance in that movie was noticed.

Pourahmad’s last notable film was “Night Bus” and after that his films became weaker one by one, but we still hope to see good films from him again.
